One thing that I love about single-stage paint: no matter how faded and dull it gets (mine was so bad that instead of being red, it was more a pinkish colour), some cutting compound and wax (and a decent supply of beer) will have it looking like new.
Having said that, it really did take the whole afternoon, and now everything hurts (that roof and bonnet are deceptively large). Must remember to get myself a polishing machine next time. And, now that the car actually looks semi-respectiable, I have to do something about the front air-dam that is held on with duct tape and zip ties.
